QUACKENBUSH MOUNTAIN VINEYARD, LAKE COUNTY
Perched high above Clear Lake at over 2,000 feet, Quackenbush Mountain is defined by its rugged volcanic slopes, fractured basalt, and mountain sunlight. Here, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Barbera grow together much as they did in our family’s earliest vineyards, producing wines of power, depth, and spice. The site’s Sobrante Hambright derived soils, rich in iron and born of ancient lava flows, share the same volcanic origins as Napa Valley’s famed eastern hillsides, yielding wines of remarkable minerality and tension. Cool nights and pure mountain air preserve freshness and lift, capturing the power of volcanic terroir through a lens of northern light and clarity.
